Caspar is a lawyer with the Supreme Court. He works as a counsel in the Trade, Customs & Logistics section.
As a cassation lawyer, Caspar advises and litigates frequently in civil cases before the Supreme Court, but also in cases before lower courts. He covers a broad field of civil law, with a focus on commercial disputes, consumer law and civil procedural law.
Caspar is regularly called in by other lawyers as a sounding board. This is done not only with a view to a possible cassation appeal, but also in order to arrive at the best litigation strategy together.
After a banking career, Caspar switched to the legal profession in 2004. From his first day as a lawyer, Caspar has been intensively involved in conducting complex legal proceedings, including civil cassations. As an experienced cassation lawyer, Caspar successfully passed the aptitude test, with which he was admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court.
Caspar is a member of the Advisory Committee on Civil Procedure of the Netherlands Bar Association and is the author of the annual Kroniek Liability Law in the Advocatenblad. Furthermore, he regularly publishes annotations and articles in various legal journals and is often asked in the national media as an expert to give his opinion on legal topics.
