Key information

Ploum is a partnership. A partnership within the meaning of the Regulation on the Legal Profession. All assignments are deemed to have been given exclusively to Ploum, and not to a person associated with Ploum.

General terms and conditions, limitation of liability, applicable law and competent court.

Ploum's general terms and conditions apply to all legal relationships of Ploum. The general terms and conditions limit Ploum's liability where appropriate. Dutch law applies to legal relationships with Ploum. The court in Rotterdam has jurisdiction for any disputes. Nevertheless, Ploum has the right to submit disputes to the competent court of the client's place of residence or place of business. The attorneys and civil-law notaries of Ploum are insured under a professional liability insurance.

Fees

Unless agreed otherwise, the fees of the work performed by Ploum is based on the amount of hours spent on the work, multiplied by the hourly fee. Next to this hourly fee Ploum will charge: office expenses of 5%, disbursements (such as court and bailiff fees) and, if applicable, VAT. The hourly rates and other costs will in principle be charged per month, provided with a specification.

Professional organization

The attorneys and civil-law notaries of Ploum are registered at the following professional organizations and adhere to the professional rules and codes of conduct of these organization. These rules and codes can be requested via these  professional organizations.

Insurances

The attorneys and civil-law notaries of Ploum are insured under a professional liability insurance and business liability insurance which exceed the minimum standards set by the professional organizations.

Complaints

In case you are not satisfied with the services of Ploum, and you do not want to discuss this with your regular contact person, you can file a complaint to the complaints officer. You can file the complaint via klachten@ploum.nl or per ordinary post to our general postal address with the subject 'Complaint' or by telephone on 010-4406440. For the legal profession we use the following complaints procedure (download available on the right site of this page). If you are not satisfied with the services provided by the (candidate) notaries of Ploum, we refer you to the Complaints and Disputes Regulation Notariaat.
