Nick advises and litigates in the field of joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. He does a lot of cross-border work. Nick has successfully completed three Grotius study programmes; Corporate Structures, Corporate Transactions and Competition Law. In 2010, Nick completed the post-doctorate practice course in Corporate Law.

Nick completed his studies at Leiden University between 1987 and 1993, majoring in Civil and Company Law. He also studied in Paris and Gainesville in the United States. Subsequently, he worked at Loeff Claeys Verbeke in Amsterdam, before joining Ploum in 1996. After a four and a half year intermezzo as senior legal counsel at KPN and TNT, Nick returned to Ploum in 2005.

Based on this registration, Nick Hessels is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
